In 2007 and 2008, two Security Professionals’ Congresses drew together a wide and representative range of security practitioners and organisations from Australia and New Zealand. The work of these Congresses formed the foundation on which the Australasian Council Security Professionals (ACSP) was created. The inaugural meeting of the ACSP was in September 2009.
The ACSP established the Security Professionals Registry – Australasia (SPR-A) in mid-2011. The SPR—A is independent of the Council and began its work registering practitioners as Security Professionals in August 2012.
Throughout, these initiatives have been supported and partially funded by the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department.
