The SPA takes a keen interest in all matters relevant to the development of standards that impact on the Security Profession. This is the focus of the SPA Standards Advisory Board.
We believe there are several gaps in the current standards domain regarding security, which are impacting both professionals and clients. These gaps, or areas where standards are silent on emerging issues or practices occur across the breadth of security consulting undertaken by the Profession, from security design consultancy through risk management and planning to strategic review.
The SPA is also moving to become an Accredited Security Standards Development Organisation for Australia and New Zealand within the Standards Aus/NZ framework. This will further enable the Security Profession and Security Professionals to have a voice in the development of meaningful standards that impact their activities.
